Darryl is a Board-Certified, Licensed Professional Counselor and founder of Russ Counseling & Consulting, LLC. Prior to private practice, he served as Vice-President of Men’s Services at the Atlanta Mission where he was instrumental in the redesign and execution of a new client-centered, multi-disciplinary, clinical services model that provides compassionate care to the underserved population in metro Atlanta.
He has also served as Clinical Team Leader for Grady Health’s Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team, an intensive and highly integrated approach for community mental health service delivery that serves individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. He transitioned from his 20-year banking, housing, and finance career to focus on his passion for individuals with mental health challenges.

He serves on the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Georgia Board of Directors and is a member of the American Counseling Association and the Licensed Professional Counselors Association (GA).

He earned an M.A in Professional Counseling from Liberty University (VA) and a B.A. from the University of Virginia.
